Terms & Conditions for BokBraai Online Orders

These Terms and Conditions govern all purchases made on BokBraai via our website https://bokbraai.co.za. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Us

Location: Bloemfontein, South Africa

We supply braai wood and related products to customers in Bloemfontein and selected other areas in South Africa.

2. Orders

2.1. When you place an order on our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your cart.
2.2. We reserve the right to accept or reject any order at our discretion (for example, if stock is unavailable or the delivery address is outside our delivery areas).
2.3. You are responsible for ensuring that your contact details, delivery address and order details are correct before confirming your order.

3. Prices and Payment

3.1. All prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.
3.2. We may change prices at any time, but the price at checkout will apply to your order.
3.3. Accepted payment methods include:

  • Credit / Debit Card (via our secure payment gateway)
  • EFT / Bank Transfer (EFT)
  • Cash on Delivery (COD) for Bloemfontein deliveries and collections only

3.4. For EFT payments, your order will only be processed once we can confirm that payment has cleared in our bank account.
3.5. For Cash on Delivery, exact cash is preferred. We reserve the right to refuse COD for certain orders or addresses at our discretion.

4. Shipping, Delivery and Collection

4.1 Delivery Areas

  • We currently deliver within Bloemfontein and to selected cities and towns within South Africa.
  • We do not offer international delivery.
  • We may refuse or cancel orders to remote or outlying areas where delivery is not practical or safe. In such cases, we will contact you to arrange a solution or refund.

4.2 Bloemfontein Delivery

  • Standard delivery fee: R50 – R100 flat rate for addresses within our defined Bloemfontein delivery area.
  • Free delivery:
    • For orders of 5 bags or more, and/or
    • On Wednesdays and Fridays within the Bloemfontein delivery area (subject to change and availability).

Details of current free delivery promotions will be shown on the website and may be updated from time to time.

4.3 Delivery to Other South African Cities

  • For addresses outside Bloemfontein but within South Africa, delivery is not fixed and will require a quote.
  • After you place your order, we will:
    • Calculate the delivery cost based on your address and order size, and
    • Contact you with a delivery quote and payment instructions.
  • Your order will only be confirmed and dispatched once you accept the quote and payment is received (where applicable).
  • If we cannot deliver to your address at a reasonable cost, we will cancel the order and refund any payment already received.

4.4 Delivery Times

  • We aim to deliver within 1 working day in Bloemfontein and 2 – 3 working days for other cities after payment confirmation.
  • Delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by factors outside our control (traffic, weather, load-shedding, courier delays, etc.).
  • We are not liable for delays but will always do our best to keep you informed.

4.5 Local Pickup (Collect at BokBraai)

  • You may choose “Collect at BokBraai” at checkout.
  • Once your order is ready, we will contact you with collection details and times.
  • Please bring your order confirmation or order number when collecting.

5. Quality, Risk and Ownership

5.1. We take care to supply quality products. Wood is a natural product and variations in size, weight, moisture content and appearance are normal.
5.2. Risk of loss or damage passes to you once:

  • The order is delivered to the address you provided, or
  • The order is collected from our collection point.

5.3. Ownership of the goods remains with us until full payment is received.

6. Returns, Refunds and Cancellations

6.1. Before dispatch / collection:
You may request to cancel or change your order before it is dispatched or collected. We will do our best to assist, but cannot guarantee changes once processing has started.

6.2. After delivery / collection:
Because our primary products are natural fuel (braai wood), returns are limited. We will consider returns or refunds in cases where:

  • The wrong product was delivered, or
  • The product is clearly defective or substantially not as described.

6.3. To request a return or refund:

  • Contact us at info@bokbraai.co.za within 1 days of delivery/collection.
  • Provide your order number, photos (if applicable), and a short description of the issue.

6.4. If a refund is approved, it will be processed using the same payment method you used, where possible.

7. Customer Responsibilities

7.1. Please ensure that:

  • Someone is available at the delivery address to receive the order, and
  • Access to your property is safe and reasonable for our vehicle or courier.

7.2. If no one is available to receive the delivery or we cannot access the property safely, we may:

  • Reschedule delivery and charge a redelivery fee, or
  • Cancel the order and refund the product cost excluding any delivery and handling costs already incurred.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of our products or services;
  • Losses caused by delays, interruptions, or failures beyond our control.

8.2. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.

9. Privacy and Personal Information

9.1. We respect your privacy and will handle your personal information in accordance with applicable South African laws (including POPIA).
9.2. We use your information to:

  • Process and deliver orders,
  • Communicate with you about your orders, and
  • Improve our services.

10. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

10.1. We may update these Terms from time to time.
10.2. The version published on our website at the time of your order will apply to that order. You can always view the latest version of our Terms and Conditions.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
